Well, it is getting to that time of year again. We can all see the end of the tunnel and we are preparing for it but it just seems so far off!! Still have reports to write (and you need to be politically correct about each one), work to hand back and an art room to clear up so it is all fresh to come back to next year. It is about this time of year that you get to count down to that real perk of teaching.... the holidays. Where you get to refresh, recharge and come back and do it all again next year, with a feeling of new hope and enthusiasm. I know I am always on the lookout for interesting new resources over the holidays, it seems we are never really "off duty".

I have been teaching art for over 11 years and sometimes can find it a very isolating experience. Many schools have only one or a couple of art teachers and it is sometimes difficult to come up with new and interesting stuff. It is also a little disheartening to put a new program into place after spending hours researching, planning and ordering resources only to get the "this is boring...." comments, or art is not even a real subject. To all you art teachers out there, my quesstion is... What is your biggest frustration with teaching art?
